Subscription Selection
How subscription discovery and selection work when the review uses a stored Azure connection.
What this page is for
This page explains the subscriptions step in the review modal and how to use it without overcomplicating scope.
When to use it
Read this when:
- you are using a stored Azure connection
- the connection can see a large number of subscriptions
- you are unsure when to narrow scope and when to leave it broad
How to use it
Once the selected Azure connection is validated, Hygiara loads the subscriptions it can access.
Use the step to:
- search by name or ID
- move through paginated results
- select all
- deselect all
If this is the first review and the connection scope looks correct, leaving everything selected is usually the right choice.
What this step is for
This step is not meant to be a complicated filtering engine. It exists so you can:
- confirm the connection sees the expected estate
- exclude subscriptions that are out of scope
- make the report reflect the right review boundary
What to expect
You only see this step for stored-credential reviews. Token-based reviews do not show it because the token already defines the accessible scope.
Common mistakes
- narrowing the scope too early on a first run
- assuming “all selected” is careless when it may actually be the best first-pass choice
- expecting this step in token mode
