Downloading Reports

Where the report download appears and what report readiness means on the review page.

What this page is for

This page explains when a report is actually ready and where to download it from.

When to use it

Use it when:

  • the review is complete but the report is not yet downloadable
  • you are not sure whether report generation is finished
  • you want to confirm when the final document is actually ready

How to download

  1. Open the review details page for a completed review.
  2. Open the Report tab.
  3. Click Download for the report you need.

The download starts immediately if the report is ready. Report files are .docx Word documents.

The Report tab can show more than one downloadable report:

  • Well-Architected Resource Assessment — the main resource-level report.
  • Enterprise-Scale Landing Zone Assessment — the Landing Zone report, when that assessment was selected.

When the download is not available

The button only appears when both of these are true:

  • the review has reached Completed status
  • the report generation step has finished

Report generation runs after the scan completes and usually takes under a minute. The Report tab shows whether the report is Queued, Generating, or Ready.

Wait on the Report tab rather than assuming the workflow failed. Refreshing the page updates the status.

What the report contains

The report is a structured Word document covering the full review scope — see Understanding the report for the section-by-section breakdown.

Report-ready emails use the same generated files. If both assessments were selected and generated successfully, the email includes two download links.

Common mistakes

  • assuming “review complete” and “report ready” are the same thing
  • downloading a report without first checking the review scope
  • treating a short report-generation delay as an error
