Connections And Credentials
Editing And Validating A Connection
How to update a saved connection and when to revalidate it.
What this page is for
This page explains how to maintain a saved Azure connection after it already exists.
When to use it
Use this when:
- a saved connection stops working
- credential details have changed
- continuous scanning or the selected WAF rule set needs to change
- you inherited the setup and want to confirm it still works
- the connection has not been used for a while
How to use it
- Open the project page.
- Go to
Connections. - Choose
Editon the relevant connection. - Update the connection details if needed.
- Review subscriptions.
- Update continuous scanning options or the WAF rule set if needed.
- Save the connection.
What Hygiara is doing
When you leave the secret field empty during edit, Hygiara keeps the stored secret in place. That makes routine maintenance safer and less tedious.
Revalidation checks that the connection still supports the Azure access the review workflow needs.
The edit flow uses the same modal as the add flow. That means credential details, discovered subscriptions, continuous scanning, and the WAF rule set are all maintained in one place.
What to expect
If the connection validates cleanly, it remains available for future reviews. If it does not, fix that before queueing a new review you care about.
Common mistakes
- editing a connection but skipping validation
- assuming an old validated connection is still trustworthy months later
- re-entering sensitive values unnecessarily when the stored secret can be reused
- changing a rule set in a review and expecting it to change the saved connection automatically
