Troubleshooting
Email And Notification Issues
What to check when report-ready emails do not arrive or behave differently from what you expected.
What this page is for
This page helps you separate review problems from notification problems.
When to use it
Use it when:
- the review completed but no email arrived
- a user expected a report-ready email and did not get one
- you are trying to understand how the preference behaves
How to check it
1. Confirm the report is actually ready
The email is sent when at least one report file exists, not just when the review has moved on from running.
2. Confirm the right user queued the review
The notification goes to the user who started the review.
3. Confirm the preference is enabled
The sending user must have report-ready notifications enabled.
4. Confirm mail delivery is configured
If the mail transport is not configured correctly, the review can still succeed while the email fails.
5. Confirm which assessments were selected
The email only links to reports that were generated. If the review did not include Landing Zone assessment, or that report file was not generated, the email will only include the resource assessment download.
What to expect
If the report is present in the app but the email is missing, you are usually dealing with notification delivery or preference state rather than a review execution issue.
Common mistakes
- expecting every user in the organization to receive the email
- assuming missing email means missing report
- expecting two report links when only one report was selected or generated
- investigating Azure access when the issue is really mail configuration
